The Rules
These are the things that will make our RPing relationship stay healthy. I personally believe that rules in excess hinder development, so I'll keep this as practical and painless as possible. :P
Literacy:: I
Proper spelling and grammar are a must as it lessens the "WTF?" moments as well as the guess work, so please ensure spelling and grammar are used to the full extent. It doesn't have to be perfect, just acceptable.
Length and Quality:: II
Like most people, I mimic the post length of my partner. Give me a long one, I give you a long one. I personally would rather something long and very deeply involved with the character's thoughts, but a paragraph or two of a post won't hurt. What I hate is writing something long and being given a half-assed reply in return. And I really do hate one-liners. A paragraph of four complete sentences is the least of what I expect and I only expect this if we're skimming through the scenes of the RP.
Characters:: III
I personally don't mind if you're using your premade ones or whip one up from scratch.
Just remember the basic rule of creating a character, make them believable. I won't mind stereotypes as long as it's not
overly stereotypical to the point that the character is a cardboard cutout, mix things up, make
some explained compromises, be creative.
Also, I don't mind extras/NPCs, in fact, I love them. They add some more spice to the RP. O: Just know when to put them.
Romance:: IV
Let's not have love at first sight. It's boring, I want to see some development, feel the butterflies in my character's
stomach and then the tension. Those are fun so skipping those parts are not cool at all. D:
Also, I would like to break away from setting up whose "dominant" and whose "submissive", or at least get rid of the stereotypes.
I'm tired of the girly sub and the manly dom.
With that said, I also would enjoy it if we had a couple of sex scenes going on. Keeping the number of these scenes at an acceptable
level would make me very happy!
Godmodding:: V
Why are we even playing if you control my character? Don't do it or I'll probably get fed up and stop replying.
Plot and Communication:: VI
I love plot, the only thing I love more than plot is a deep and involved plot that has plenty of room for
development. I dislike it whenever an RP seems to go nowhere as I feel disinterested. So to save us from
dying RPs, let's brainstorm over what will happen, what could happen and so on before we play.
Also, I'd like to keep a healthy amount of communication between myself and my partner just so we could discuss
new ideas for the RP at hand and how to move it along.
Waiting and Termination:: VII
There are simply times when we can't pull the words from our fingers and fail to deliver a reply. If this happens, I do expect at the very least a brief note saying so. If you are disinterested in continuing, a simple, "I don't think I'm interested in the RP any longer" is welcomed instead of total falling from the face of the Earth. I'll try to do the same too, so please. :D
